Prelim evaluation

I made a prelim film for my coursework. I learnt new skills that are important when making clips. When me and my group started to get into our planning we used a storyboard to help us keep track of what we are doing in each cut scene. it will also help us remember what type of angle and cut scene we will be using in out short movie. we also came up with a script to help us keep track of what we are saying in each part of the clip so that we can repeat a clip if needed without forgetting the dialogue used.

Our location was an empty train, we were not allowed to leave school to make the clip so it was quite difficult finding a place in the school that resembled a the inside of a train. we placed chairs in rows to try and make the back round more realistic. next time I would like to be able to use a better location to make the clip look more realistic. Anton was using the camera and the rest of us were the stars of the film. I really enjoyed being on camera but next time I would like to be more involved in the filming as well.

I learnt how to trim the video clips, add them in order in the timeline and add motion effects that enabled me to make the clips go in slow motion. I learnt how to add nice neat titles at the start if the film to make it more realistic. I struggled in some of the editing because the software I used was new to me and I had to use pretty basic editing skills that the teacher told us. in the future I will practice using the software more so I can perfect my editing skills.

overall I believe that the prelim was very successful because using the 180 degree rule, and other types of shots such as the match shots, the prelim turned out very professional and clean. the 180 degree rule made sure that when each character spoke to one another it looked clean and professional.
