why is sound so important?
Sound is important in films because it uses all types of sound to create a soundscape. This is just as important as the footage in the clip you are watching. A good example of this was when we watched the opening of the 'shinning'. we couldn't understand what type of genre the film was without the sound but when we watched it with the sound we could quickly tell that the movie was a thriller from the sound. without the sound the film cannot address the emotions to the audience properly. this applies if the sound is used in the wrong place as well.
